Packaging – plastic:

ALL our tubes are made with 50% post-consumer recycled plastic. This is why they are slightly off white in colour (thanks to bottle top colours) and a bit firmer than virgin plastic tubes. They may even have a few printing discrepancies as it is much harder to print ‘perfectly’ on recycled material. But we think this just adds to their character!

Our jar, lid and shive is 100% recycled plastic. The picture of the ship above is actually our jars arriving into Felixstowe - they arrived on the Evergreen, on her maiden voyage! 

Recycling: All our core packaging is 100% recyclable – please cut open your tubes at the end, use every last drop, and rinse them out before adding them to your recycled waste. Our 24/7 jar could even become a cute earring container – any other repurposing ideas?

Packaging – card: We use minimal packaging, which means no outer carton. So your products may not appear fully-dressed but you can relish in the fact that it’s saving trees, and we hope you’ll agree that’s better for everyone! All our card from shipping boxes to pouch packs is FSC certified (and recycled  where possible). If you’ve received an order from us already, you’ll know our favourite card. If you haven’t – would you like a bunch of wild flowers?

Packaging – mushroom boxes: This is our favourite ever packaging material. Grown especially to order, here in the UK and 100% biodegradable.

Fabric pouches: Made from OEKO-TEX certified fabric which means that aside from being rather lovely, they are free from harmful substances. 

Upcycled headband fabric: This fabric comes from old t-shirts. Pretty cool huh? A great way to give waste cotton a new lease of life. Have you designed yours yet?

Samples: This has been really tricky – we have searched high and low and debated long and hard. Aluminium samples in theory are great – but smaller pots usually can’t be recycled in most boroughs and councils due to their small size. They also have to be hand filled and their carbon cost is high. Sachets are not yet recyclable but they use a small amount of material, have a low carbon footprint, can be filled mechanically and are the most affordable option for a small business. We want and need to show you our products so this is why we have gone down this route… for now, fully acknowledging it isn’t ideal.

Our formulas are balanced with carefully selected vegan, active ingredients from renewable sources, that use the latest green technology designed to support your skin gently and effectively.

Over 98% of our ingredients are plant and water derived.  We chose plant based ingredients but we recognise the importance of synthetically derived ingredients such a preservatives where they do a better job of keeping our formulations safe and stable.  

Our fragrance is 100% natural, designed to help comfort mood – with notes of bergamot, petitgrain, raspberry and peach, geranium and rose.

All our ingredients are proudly The Vegan Society certified and Leaping Bunny approved.

JAYA Beauty believes that beauty should be cruelty free. We are proud to be Leaping Bunny approved. A global programme, Leaping Bunny requires cruelty free standards over and above legal requirements.

All of our own brand cosmetic and personal care products are approved under the Cruelty Free International Leaping Bunny programme, the internationally recognisable gold standard for cruelty free products. We adhere to a fixed cut-off date policy and proactively monitor our suppliers to ensure that our products continue to adhere to the Leaping Bunny criteria. Our supplier monitoring system is also independently audited.

Our freight travels by ship, train or road – never air.

We had hoped to monitor our carbon postage emissions through our website and off-set the carbon for guilt free purchasing but we haven't found a solution that we feel will do a good enough job - yet!

Our manufacturing process has been designed with our partners to ensure minimum water is used and can be recycled wherever possible.

Our orders are carefully prepared to fit order quantities and to ensure minimal waste. 

Our brains run off cups of tea fuelled by the solar energy from our roof panels and the office dogs provide necessary therapy when we’re working in overdrive. It just gets a little chaotic when the chickens + bees want to join the team…
